Join a medical laboratory team in Immunopathology, where you will be responsible for a wide range of laboratory tests. This role requires a high level of expertise and involves working with immunoassay, autoimmune serology, immunochemistry and allergy.

About the Role:

You will be based in the Westmead Immunopathology department and work 38 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday.

  • Performing at a high level of expertise a wide range of laboratory tests within the discipline of immunopathology.
  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver comprehensive diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To perform all laboratory activities in accordance with NSW Health Pathology and NSW Health policies and procedures.
  • To participate in quality control programs to ensure accurate results.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pathology services, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Control Systems.
  • Demonstrated recent knowledge and experience in performing and interpreting protein electrophoreses and immunofixation, ELISA, Phadia 250 and processing biopsy material for direct immunofluorescence.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff.
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes.
