About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Water team at WSP Global Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality engineering consultancy services to our public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a national multi-disciplinary team to deliver on project goals, collaborating with talented professionals nationwide.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation that presents complex information and results effectively to technical and non-technical clients.
  • Undertake field and desktop investigations related to the condition, appropriateness, and capacity of existing electrical infrastructure for capital upgrades.
  • Prepare detailed documentation and specification requirements for electrical components to support procurement and delivery of allocated projects.
  • Demonstrate technical and commercial acumen with a focus on successful outcomes for our projects and clients.
  • Actively shape the industry through involvement in committees, industry bodies, and delivery papers.
  • Possess specific safety knowledge/understanding in areas such as protection, arc flash, earthing, hazardous areas, and machine safety principles.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • Chartered Engineer, or working towards it.
  • RPEQ certification is an advantage.
  • Experience working within an engineering consultancy or in a design role for a contractor or asset owner. Experience in the water industry is preferred.
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience in the development of standards, conceptual and detailed design, and design management of electrical infrastructure, particularly relating to the water utility sector or similar.
  • Design background in PTW design, LV and ELV electrical systems, PLC/telemetry, and instrumentation and control.
  • Emerging experience in project management.
  • Ability to provide technical contributions to proposals and/or pursuits.
  • Consult with our clients in an effective and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, team members, and peers. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
