Chemistry Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Junior Science and Chemistry up to HSC level.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the intellectual development and wellbeing of their students. They will deliver excellence in developing and delivering academic programs, administer student assessment and results, mark and record keeping.

Teachers also have a form class where they monitor the wellbeing of their students and deliver the wellbeing program. All teachers contribute to the activities of their department and the school as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement teaching programs that meet the needs of all students
  • Participate in curriculum planning and resource development
  • Use formative and summative assessments to determine student progress
  • Submit marking, reports and results in a timely manner
  • Monitor and report on the progress of all students

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Chemistry and accreditation with NESA
  • Proven ability to teach, lead and achieve exceptional academic results in Stage 6 Chemistry
  • Strong differentiation skills in the delivery of curriculum
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Excellent ICT skills and a willingness to develop ICT skills
