Job Overview

This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the Greenfield Development activities within the Onshore Development Execution team at our Brisbane office. You will provide engineering support to the Cooper Basin Project team, assisting with the delivery of both short- and long-term projects that contribute to the Well Delivery Development Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align Engineering Scope: Ensure that engineering scope, activities, and decision-making outcomes align with project objectives and strategies.
  • Technical Decision-Making: Frame, support, and mature key project technical decisions to ensure timely and effective project progression.
  • Deliverables: Ensure key project development deliverables are developed in line with the Santos Opportunity Delivery Process, guaranteeing quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence in early project phases to define project scope, schedule, and estimate accurately.
  • Integration: Support the integration of technical and non-technical work fronts into key project deliverables and documentation, fostering seamless collaboration.
  • Engineering Scopes: Manage external service providers' engineering scopes, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and cost compliance with required standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure effective stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining open communication channels.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering and ideally possess Project Management qualifications. Your extensive experience in engineering and/or project engineering roles, particularly in conventional and/or unconventional oil and gas production, is essential.

A strong background in greenfield projects, hydrocarbon production systems, gathering networks, and processing facilities, including produced water management, would be highly valued. A track record of applying technically innovative solutions to complex development challenges is also desirable. RPEQ and/or CPEng status is favourable, although it may not be mandatory for this position.
