Overview

Join the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network team as a Facilities Maintenance Associate at our Kangaroo Island Health Service. As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for performing general facility maintenance tasks associated with the interior and exterior of the health unit.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Rubbish collection, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and grounds maintenance
  • Selecting, establishing, and maintaining simple gardens
  • Installing and maintaining watering systems and formulating, preparing, and applying herbicides, pesticides, weedicides, or specialty fertilisers
  • Performing advanced tractor operations requiring the setup and calibration of a broad range of implements for complex grounds functions
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need prior experience in building and grounds maintenance, with practical experience in using a wide range of hand and power tools.

You will also need to be able to work with minimum supervision, utilising your initiative and judgment to ensure timely completion of tasks and activities as directed.

A sound understanding of Occupational Health Safety & Welfare acts relevant to a maintenance role is essential.

Additionally, you will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to provide assistance and guidance to other employees.
