Senior Landfill Engineer - Melbourne

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Landfill Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our Land Quality and Remediation discipline, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise on landfill engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work alongside industry leaders to provide support on technical growth within the team.
  2. Display confidence and high-level project management skills, including design investigations, engineering solutions to environmental issues at and near landfills, preparation of design documentation, and review of technical reports from external parties.
  3. Lead various types of projects for SLR on landfills, including assessment, supervision, design, peer review, audit, and expert witness.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. A professional qualification in environmental science or engineering, with circa 6-12+ years professional experience in consulting or a similar industry role.
  2. Proven capability in environmental / contamination management, soil science, preferably in the development, mining, and oil and gas sectors.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Team player capable of working independently and collaborating with other consultants from in-house and external experts.
  5. High level understanding of key landfill engineering elements, including Vic EPA expectations and requirements for landfill operators.
