">Job Description
">The Quality and Safety Associate will be responsible for:
">- ">
- Providing leadership and support to the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager and clinical department managers to implement quality and safety systems and improve patient outcomes;">
- Investigating incidents and complaints, and coordinating actions to prevent recurrence;">
- Facilitating the implementation of innovation and systems improvement that eliminate or reduce patient harm;">
- Collaborating with clinicians to develop process improvement strategies that support patient safety and quality goals;">
- Collecting and analyzing patient safety and clinical outcome data to evidence the effectiveness of the quality and safety system;">
- Evaluating quality and safety outcome data to identify opportunities for continual improvement and making recommendations to relevant hospital committees;">
- Supporting the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager to improve the effectiveness of the quality system and monitor compliance with policies, corrective and preventive actions, and survey recommendations;">
- Working collaboratively with hospital executives to coordinate the implementation of recommendations arising from root cause analysis or other system or case reviews;">
- Maintaining awareness of literature and professional organizations for new or revised best practice related to quality and safety;">
- Evaluating and improving the hospital's quality and safety program based on internal needs and external requirements and standards;">
- Providing education and training related to quality and safety, incident investigation, and management, as required;">
- Performing other duties as delegated.">
Required Skills and Qualifications
">The ideal candidate will possess:
">- ">
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office suite;">
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience, and skills, including a basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital;">
- Awareness and/or experience in healthcare accreditation and regulatory requirements;">
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives and their practical application;">
- Demonstrated experience in advanced analytical skills to trend and interpret data and provide reports on data/information used for projects, evaluation, and process improvement activities;">
- Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieve identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team;">
- Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety;">
- Developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills;">
- Demonstrated communication, consultation, facilitation, and negotiation skills, including report writing and presentation skills, including experience in the use of computer software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and">
- An ability to effectively lead and implement change in a complex environment.">
