Sofitel Brisbane Central is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for managing a diverse group of engineers, handypersons, and external contractors.

About the Role:

  • Lead a high-performing engineering team by assigning daily tasks and overseeing project execution.
  • Develop and implement work request systems across all hotel areas to optimize efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze plant and utility consumption readings to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fire systems.
  • Promote a culture of Work Health and Safety and sustainability by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the maintenance or engineering industry.
  • A trade qualification in mechanical or building services (or a willingness to attain one).
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance systems, Building Management Systems, and fire prevention practices.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including being on-call for out-of-hours engineering issues.
