Job Title: Editorial Leader

About the Role:

The editorial leader will drive news gathering, community engagement and talent development for our regional bureau.

Based in Bundaberg, you will lead a team of multi-media journalists and radio program specialists to deliver relevant and compelling news for the local community and news from the Wide Bay region for a national audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead editorial planning to create compelling content for video, audio, webb/app and social media.
  • Edit and provide constructive feedback to the team to ensure content meets standards.
  • Recruit and develop the team to meet objectives.
  • Foster collaboration within the team and across the organization.

Skill Requirements:

  • A strong background in journalism with a keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy, fairness and innovation.
  • Leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Audience engagement skills with understanding of analytics and ability to tailor content.
  • Community engagement skills with deep knowledge of regional issues.
  • Collaboration and adaptability skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
