About the Role

This is a mid-senior level opportunity to lead strategic product management initiatives. As a Product Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing operational plans to drive end-to-end lifecycle management of individual products and entire product classes.

Key responsibilities include continuous monitoring and analysis of product performance, driving operational objectives related to product health, financial targets, and customer growth and retention. You will leverage comprehensive data and research to guide product improvements and meet strategic goals.

In addition to managing product lifecycles, your role will influence the definition of strategy and vision for both individual products and whole product classes, including pricing strategies, underwriting rules, and governance frameworks. You will also lead the identification and implementation of business improvements across the product portfolio and support cross-functional coordination with marketing, distribution, digital teams, and other stakeholders.

Your work will significantly impact product performance and profitability across the organization. The role demands strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance innovation with regulatory requirements, while fostering collaboration across departments to achieve business objectives and enhance overall product effectiveness.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience within an insurance-based legal practice or large-scale insurer or financial services organization.
  • Deep knowledge of insurance product structure and experience in drafting insurance products.
  • Strong ability to integrate inputs from pricing, underwriting, portfolio management, and distribution to optimize product lifecycles and profitability.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing product strategy, design, governance, and pricing across multiple product classes and stakeholder groups.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, insurance, or related fields, with industry certifications such as ANZIIF preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, strategic thinking, and stakeholder coordination skills, with a customer-centric and innovation-driven mindset.
