The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our team as Head of Special Education Services. This critical role involves developing and implementing strategies to support students with disabilities, promoting inclusion and equity throughout the college community.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of special education programs, ensuring alignment with state and national standards;
- Provide guidance and support to teachers on differentiated instruction and accommodations for students with disabilities;
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures related to student welfare and support;
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust interventions as needed;
- Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A strong educational background, preferably in special education or a related field;
- Proven experience in leadership roles, with a focus on staff development and coaching;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders;
- A commitment to inclusivity and diversity, with a passion for creating accessible learning environments;
