About the Role

The Snowy 2.0 Project requires an experienced Welding Inspector to join our team in a remote challenging area with extreme cold temperatures.


Description

This is a hands-on role responsible for inspecting and assessing the quality and strength of welding work, ensuring welds are safe and fit for purpose complying with appropriate International or Australian standards, codes and client specifications.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of welding techniques and processes, ability to read and interpret drawings, knowledge of health and safety practises, sound negotiation and problem-solving skills, strong initiative and proactive nature, key collaborative skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, well-developed time management skills, high attention to detail, and exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

This position involves verifying welding specifications and compliances for site requirements, ensuring welding procedures are being followed correctly, identifying qualifications of welders and the validity of their certificates, ensuring that correct tools and equipment are being used, verifying that welding equipment is calibrated and in suitable condition.

  • CWI (IWI-B) Certified International Welding Inspector Basic or CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
  • AS1796 certificate 10 – Welding Supervisor
  • White Card
