Physiotherapist in Aged Care

Aged care physiotherapy is a dynamic and challenging profession that requires the application of physical therapy principles to improve the mobility, strength, and function of patients.

This role involves working with elderly patients who have various conditions such as arthritis, Parkinson's disease, and stroke-related impairments. The physiotherapist will develop individualized treatment plans to address the specific needs of each patient, taking into account their medical history, lifestyle, and personal preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to enhance mobility, strength, and function
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to educate them on treatment goals and progress
  • Document patient information and treatment outcomes accurately and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a physiotherapist
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Experience in aged care preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
