Role Overview:
Chandler Macleod seeks a dynamic Temp Media and Communications Lead to join its impactful Communications and Media team for a 2-3 month contract. This team supports both internal and external communications, focusing on media relations, thought leadership, award submissions, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead media relations, including creating media releases, managing inquiries, and developing industry stories.
- Drive PR and media opportunities aligned with the organisation's strategy, including industry and Ministerial events.
- Develop high-quality content for corporate publications and awards, showcasing the organisation as a thought leader.
- Monitor media coverage, prepare regular reports, and manage effective use of communication channels.
- Act as a Public Information Officer in incidents, handling strategy and coordination of public information.
- Support communications across the organisation, including copywriting, presentations, and general briefs.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- 2–5 years in communications, media, or community relations within a complex environment.
- Crisis communication experience, adept at handling sensitive media situations and building media relationships.
- Proven teamwork, creativity in communications, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong planning, influencing, negotiation, and crisis management skills.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, including producing plans and corporate materials.
Additional Requirements:
- Must live within an hour's commute for potential on-call responsibilities.
- Tuesday and Thursday in-office attendance required, with flexible working days.
