Teaching French in a Bilingual Education Context

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic French teacher to join our Languages faculty, commencing in 2026. This newly created position responds to the growing demand for French language learning at our school and will play a key role in supporting our innovative French Immersion Programme.

The successful candidate will teach French across a range of year levels, delivering both language-specific classes and Australian Curriculum subjects through French. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to inspire students to develop their language proficiency, cultural understanding, and confidence in authentic communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach French language and literature at appropriate year levels
  • Deliver selected Australian Curriculum subjects in French as part of the immersion programme
  • Design engaging, challenging, and culturally rich learning experiences
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and current teacher registration (or eligibility) in South Australia
  • Demonstrated fluency in French and a strong understanding of Francophone cultures
  • Experience or interest in teaching within an immersion or bilingual education context
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students of varying language abilities
  • A collaborative, innovative, and student-centred approach to teaching and learning
