About the Role

This permanent, part-time position is available at YMCA Warrigal Road Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), a multi-cultural and linguistically diverse school community located in Eight Mile Plains.

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development, and learning. This includes providing a high quality of care, activities, and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment, and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies, and procedures.

The key responsibilities include leading the design of the educational program with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator, ensuring children's learning and development informs the design of the program, mentoring and supporting educators understanding of the educational program and practice, and undertaking administrative requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • A Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education;
  • Sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework;
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning;
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning;
  • Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles;
  • Critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification;
  • A Blue Card;
