AI Research Specialist

As a Research Associate In Artificial Intelligence, you will conduct independent and collaborative research activities to advance expertise in Cognitive Robotics and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning/Neuro-Symbolic Artificial Intelligence.

You will contribute to writing scientific papers and reports for international journals, participate in conferences and workshops, and engage with industry partners.

Collaborate with a team and external partners; report to Professor Maurice Pagnucco, Deputy Dean (Education), Faculty of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct high-quality academic research with limited supervision.\
• Develop and maintain expertise in knowledge representation and reasoning (artificial intelligence) or neurosymbolic AI or related area.\
• Engage with industry partners and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.\
• Collaborate with a team across disciplines and build effective relationships.\
• Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and students.\
• Commit to up-to-date discipline knowledge and developments.\
• Develop highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.\
• Report to Professor Maurice Pagnucco, Deputy Dean (Education), Faculty of Engineering.\
• Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results.\
• Participate in conferences and workshops, and engage with industry partners.\
• Develop a track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.\

  • Salary Level A - AUD$113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation.\
