Ecologist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Ecologist to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. As an ecologist, you will play a key role in conducting field-based ecology surveys, leading and managing ecological projects, and planning and delivering ecology surveys independently or collaboratively.

The ideal candidate will have excellent field skills, 5+ years of experience conducting and leading botanical surveys in various WA environments, and proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages such as ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be required to possess strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field-based ecology surveys, including baseline surveys, monitoring programmes, and targeted flora and weed assessments across various bioregions.">
  • Lead and manage ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.">
  • Plan, deliver, and analyse ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.">

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in environmental science, ecology, botany, or similar.">
  • Excellent field skills with 5+ years of experience conducting and leading botanical surveys in various WA environments.">
  • Proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages such as ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps.">
  • WA driving licence and ability to work outdoors on short and extended field programmes.">
