About the Role

We are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join our team at BDO. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide legal and strategic advice to our business colleagues, working closely with the General Counsel, Head of Legal, and the legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on and drafting commercial and client contracts, including external terms and BDO terms.
  • Providing ad hoc legal advice across the firm, including employment law matters.
  • Assisting with legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, including investigations, disputes, and litigation.
  • Supporting the firm's legal frameworks, including reviewing policies and procedures, providing legal training, and developing legal knowledge resources.
  • Supporting special projects and initiatives across the firm.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws and admitted to practice in an Australian State or Territory.
  • Minimum 4 years PQE.
  • Demonstrated commercial and corporate experience.
  • Employment law, litigation, and regulatory (ASIC) experience highly considered.
  • Ability to develop ideas, challenge the status quo, and consult with others to produce viable commercial solutions.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Agile and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex legal matters.
