Airfield Project Director

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Airfield Project Director to join our Aviation team.
Job Description- Provide end-to-end development and delivery leadership for airfield projects, identifying key capital initiatives and managing design, procurement, cost control, and project delivery.
- Lead and manage a team of airfield program managers in delivering capital projects within agreed timelines.
- Ensure the program team is well-engaged across the wider business unit and compliant with reporting and governance requirements.
- Support the Head of Airport Development in delivering the capital plan and engaging with stakeholders.
- Program Leadership: Lead and manage respective airfield program managers in delivery of capital projects within accountable programs.
- Capital Plan Development: Work across Business Units to develop a rolling capital program of works to support business needs.
- Design Management: Ensure project briefs are developed and agreed with stakeholders to enable design activities to commence. Ensure selection of consultants appropriate and balanced across consultant panels.
- Procurement, Cost Control and Management: Ensure the right program and project budgets are developed and updated through the Program/project lifecycle.
- Delivery Management: Ensure Safety is always front of mind across respective programs both internally and with external consultants and contractors – Target Zero.
- Degree qualified in a related discipline, such as Construction or Engineering, or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification; and/or substantial experience within this field minimum 15 years.
- Extensive end-to-end experience in leading built environment capital projects in a 24/7 complex operational environment.
- Aviation and Airfield project management and leadership essential.
- Experienced in leading programs of multiple projects concurrently to meet agreed timelines.
- Strong financial management and commercial acumen.
- Experience in construction procurement methodologies and strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
