About the Role

PDP Pattle Delamore Partners is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our team. As a leading environmental and engineering consultancy, we are committed to delivering high-quality solutions for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have around 2 years of experience in contaminated land and a strong understanding of New Zealand's Contaminated Land Guidelines and Regulatory Framework. They will be responsible for completing preliminary site investigations, undertaking detailed site investigations, and interpreting analytical results.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for producing site management and remedial action plans, supervising activities required by these plans, and technical reporting. They will work closely with our team to deliver quality projects and provide excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete preliminary site investigations, including sites commonly investigated such as petroleum facilities, commercial/industrial/residential land, asbestos-contaminated land, and landfills.
  • Undertake detailed site investigations, including the preparation of health and safety documentation and obtaining environmental samples.
  • Interpret analytical results and assess environmental data.
  • Produce site management and remedial action plans and supervise activities required by these plans.
  • Technical reporting, including the development of conceptual site models.
  • Assist with environmental project management, including the development of proposals, contractor management, and invoicing.
  • Participate in short- and medium-term field programs, including travel and overnight stays.
Requirements
  • A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Environmental Science, ideally with a focus on environmental chemistry and/or geology and/or hydrogeology.
  • Great people skills and an appetite to learn new things.
  • Around 2 years of contaminated land experience, with field experience being a must.
  • Familiarity with New Zealand's Contaminated Land Guidelines and Regulatory Framework.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinking to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.
