The Fleet Asset Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting safety, compliance, and optimal fleet availability across the organization.

Reporting to the National Fleet Asset Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring effective inspection, maintenance, and operational readiness of light and heavy vehicles. This involves managing fleet asset programs, coordinating vehicle builds and deployments, developing vehicle specifications that meet operational needs, and engaging with stakeholders across various functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven experience managing fleet assets in transport, waste, or industrial services environments.
  • Success in coordinating vehicle builds and deployments across multi-site operations.
  • Ability to develop vehicle specifications that align with national fleet standards.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across operational, commercial, and procurement functions.
  • Experience in capital planning, delivery scheduling, and monitoring asset performance.
  • Understanding of the fleet asset lifecycle, including specification, procurement, commissioning, and disposal.
  • Practical knowledge of build tracking processes and coordination with OEMs and body builders.
  • Experience with asset data systems such as JDE and Coupa.

Requirements

  • A degree in logistics, engineering, or a related field is desirable; post-graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
