Delivering Youth-Friendly Care: A Rewarding Nursing Role

About the Position

This part-time nursing opportunity requires a passionate, empathetic individual to join our multidisciplinary team at Wyong Central Community Health Centre. As a vital member of our team, you will deliver youth-friendly, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care to young people aged 12–24 with multiple vulnerabilities and/or chronic illness or disability.

The role involves:

  • Providing clinical care within your scope of practice, including immunisations, sexual and reproductive health, chronic illness support, and treatment planning.
  • Supporting the CMO clinic and collaborating with medical practitioners and specialist healthcare providers.
  • Working with internal and external partners to ensure seamless, wraparound support for young people.

This role requires availability on Wednesdays, with some flexibility across other weekdays. No weekends, after 5, or night shifts, making it ideal for those seeking genuine work-life balance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience and understanding of health issues facing young people, particularly Aboriginaland Torres Strait Islander young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
  • A collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach, contributing positively to team culture and continuous learning.
  • Commitment to culturally sensitive practice and delivering care that respects diversity, inclusion, and individual strengths.
