Alzheimer's Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing exceptional care and services to individuals with dementia, the frail aged, and their families.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Executive Culinary Manager to join our hospitality team on a casual basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the kitchen and its environment, ensuring high-quality standards of food hygiene and safety, and maintaining excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen and its environment under the supervision of the Director of Care
  • Budgeting of catering and related kitchen supplies
  • In conjunction with Nutrition Australia, develop appropriate menus
  • Ensure Speech Pathology recommendations are adhered to
  • Storage & Inventory Management
  • Maintenance of food supplies and ordering of groceries, fruit & vegetables
  • Preparation and cooking meals for residents as per menu both winter and summer
  • Special dietary requirements including allergies/intolerances and textured modified meals
  • Maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen and service area

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery - with actual hands-on experience OR equivalent 3 years hands-on commercial cooking and willingness to work in an aged care setting
  • Food Safety Certification highly regarded
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and WHS
  • Competent in food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Good financial understanding of catering operations and budget management
  • Proven ability and willingness to work harmoniously as a member of a small team in a fast-paced environment

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience.
