About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Moulder to join our Foundry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the setup and operation of continuous moulding machines and furnaces. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that values innovation and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Position patterns inside mould sections and clamp sections together.
  • Clean and smooth moulds, cores, and core boxes, and repair surface imperfections.
  • Sift and pack sand into mould sections, core boxes, and pattern contours using hand or pneumatic ramming tools.
  • Sprinkle or spray parting agents onto patterns and mould sections to facilitate the removal of patterns from moulds.
  • Cut spouts, runner holes, and sprue holes into moulds.
  • Lift upper mould sections from lower sections and remove moulded patterns.
  • Smooth and repair newly formed sand impression of the pattern with hand tools as needed.
  • Pour molten metal into moulds, manually or using crane ladles.
  • Break the moulds once the metal has cooled to remove the castings.
  • Operate ovens or furnaces to bake cores.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and hold trade qualifications in engineering fabrication, specifically casting & moulding. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
