The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and guidance to our management and staff.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Managing accounts receivable, including monthly billings and issuing statements to residents.
  • Entering cash receipts and managing debt collection.
  • Responding to resident queries regarding statements and fee information.
  • Safeguarding and maintaining Medicare and Services Australia fees and payments.
  • Preparing monthly debtor reports and entering journals for AR entries.
  • Processing payroll for over 800 employees on a fortnightly basis.
  • Reconciling and preparing payroll journals.
  • Assisting with month-end duties, including preparing P/L reports and reconciliations.
  • Maintaining the chart of accounts and managing accrual and prepayment schedules.
  • Calculating intercompany interest for the fund.
  • Managing assets and making recommendations for growth and development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • CPA qualification.
  • At least two years' experience as an accountant in residential aged care in Australia.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive and can-do attitude, with a willingness to take ownership of the role and thrive in a dynamic environment.
