About the Role

This position involves providing evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders and other systemic barriers that prevent clients from entering employment or beginning study.

You will support our customers in addressing their non-vocational barriers and developing their skills and job readiness. The role may also involve delivering training relevant to the field and consulting with site staff and other service providers.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 17/01/2025, serving our customers across Armadale and Cannington. You will experience a 9-day fortnight with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week, along with the remuneration of a full-time employee and the ability to salary sacrifice.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Competence in applying a wide range of psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions to consumers with complex needs;
  • Ability to employ strategies to effectively resolve conflict;
  • Sound understanding of available mental health and other support services;
  • Experience in providing individual therapy, group therapy, and case management;
  • Ability to critically analyze or evaluate issues related to psychological care;
  • Sound knowledge of the local labor market;
  • Experience working effectively with a culturally diverse range of people;
  • Understanding of barriers to employment for disadvantaged individuals and communities;
  • Understanding of case management frameworks;
  • Basic understanding of WHS responsibilities.

You will also be required to:

  • Hold a current driver's license;
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling;
  • Be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Workers (SA staff only).

Remuneration

A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax-effective salary packaging.
