We are seeking a seasoned Groundskeeper to join our team in Melbourne.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining large turf areas, pruning and hedging plants, replacing trees, plants, and mulch in garden beds, and keeping gardens weed free.
The role involves maintaining large turf areas with ride on mowers, whipper snippers and edgers, setting up and following traffic management plans, blowing down pathways, and general tidy up and making the playground, parks and streetscapes safe.
Key Responsibilities- Maintaining trees through their establishment period.
- Pruning and hedging of plants.
- Replacing trees, plants, and mulch in garden beds.
- Keeping gardens weed free.
- Maintaining large turf areas with ride on mowers, whipper snippers and edgers.
- Setting up and following traffic management plans.
- Blowing down pathways.
- General tidy up and making the playground, parks and streetscapes safe.
- Landscape maintenance experience and/or trade qualification (working towards) in Parks & Gardens or Horticulture.
- Experience with ride on mowers, blowers, hedgers, whipper snippers, hand tools and power tools.
- Experience working with trees.
- First Aid Certificate (an advantage).
- Traffic Management Qualification (an advantage).
- Proof of right to work in Australia.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- High level of personal work standards.
- Ability to work independently and have excellent time management skills.
- Capacity to work in all weather conditions.
