Electrical Maintenance Specialist Opportunity

The Perenti Group operates across a wide range of mining sectors and provides unique career progression opportunities. We are actively seeking an Experienced Underground Auto Electrician to join our team in Canada on a 6 week on, 3 week off roster.

The emphasis of this role is to ensure that local workers develop their skills and knowledge by sharing your experience and being a role model. You will require boundless energy, resilience, determination, and a genuine interest in working with people from different cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and the service sheet.
  • Utilize your skills and experience to minimize downtime on machinery.
  • Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times, ensuring all parts are kept at minimum stock levels.
  • Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals.
  • Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly.
Requirements:
  • A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times.
  • A sound knowledge of Sandvik U/G Development/Production Drills and Loaders.
  • Experience on Caterpillar Underground Loaders.
  • Proven knowledge on remote control systems either RCT or Automine.
  • Experience in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high productivity underground contracting mining environment.
  • A strong background working with latest generation underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
  • At least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
  • A self-starter who will work with minimal supervision.
  • An excellent service and maintenance approach to the job.
  • An International Drivers License.
