About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused individual to join our Communications Team as a Public Relations Coordinator - Community Engagement. This dynamic role will involve maintaining communications material for the City and generating ongoing content for various audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop effective communication strategies to engage with diverse community groups
  • Coordinate a range of communications activities and channels to promote the City's services and initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement public relations campaigns
  • Contribute to the development of content for various media platforms, including social media, websites, and printed materials
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing engaging content for various audiences
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
  • A strong understanding of community engagement principles and practices
  • Previous experience in a public relations or communications role, with a focus on community engagement
