We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Costco Wholesale Canberra. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our warehouse and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain warehouse floors, offices, break rooms, and restrooms to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our members and employees.
  • Restock supplies and materials to ensure efficient operations.
  • Operate garbage compactor and cardboard baler to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, replacing bulbs, and repairing equipment.
  • Assist with installing and repairing building displays and fixtures.
  • Maintain the grounds outside the warehouse, including blowing leaves, picking up litter, and performing building maintenance.
  • Follow proper safety and security procedures, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler and product disposal.
  • Respond quickly to and clean up spills.
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
Requirements
  • Janitorial, maintenance, or comparable experience.
  • Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery, including hand tools, pressure washer, floor scrubber, leaf blower, power tools, trash compactor, cardboard baler, and machinery throughout the warehouse.
