Project Controls Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Lead to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for overseeing cost management and reporting functions for our projects.
Your primary focus will be on analysing project cost performance, tracking expenditures, and forecasting future costs to support budget management and financial planning. You will also mentor and support junior project controls staff, ensuring consistency and accuracy in project controls practices.
In addition, you will monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum. You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant data and inputs for project controls activities.
As a seasoned professional, you will prepare regular reports and presentations on project performance, providing insights and recommendations to project teams and clients.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree in engineering, project management, business administration, or a related field;
- Proven experience in a similar position within project controls, preferably in the mining & minerals industry or related sectors;
- Proficiency in project management software such as Oracle, Ecosys, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent;
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, with expertise in applications such as Power Pivot and Power BI;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders;
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and guide team members toward common goals;
- Knowledge of mining industry regulations, standards, and best practices is desirable;
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are a plus.
