Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Chief People Officer to join our team.

  • Role Overview

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business practices, ideally within the mining industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide proactive HR generalist advice and guidance to business leaders.
  2. Guide, coach and mentor HR team and business managers.
  3. Support the implementation of standardised processes with PC&G, Talent, OD and L&D.
  4. Provide timely ER/IR support.
  5. Facilitate Performance and Reward; Employment and Industrial Relations, and Organisation Effectiveness.
  6. Manage workers' compensation and injury management cases with HSEQ and PC&G Manager.
  7. Act as point of escalation for HR team regarding payroll issues, union queries and dispute handling.
  8. Support disciplinary investigations, complaint/dispute resolution and matters at Fair Work Commission.
  9. Develop a robust HR Dashboard of key people metrics with Manager PC&G.
  10. Maintain currency and relevance of policies, procedures and governance framework.
  11. Identify and facilitate business improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience in a similar senior influencing role.
  • Practical experience supporting both salaried and award/EA-based workforces.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Refined time management skills and ability to handle conflicting priorities.
  • Autonomy, self-drive, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Experience representing an organisation at the Fair Work Commission (desirable).
  • Experience supporting HRIS system implementation (desirable).
