Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at VSA Group Pty Ltd / Laung Laachi Indian Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Menu Development: Collaborate with our Restaurant Manager to design and implement new menu items, ensuring they meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and nutritional value.
- Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation of all food items, ensuring they are cooked to perfection and presented in a visually appealing manner.
- Team Management: Supervise and train kitchen personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance.
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks and place orders for supplies as needed, ensuring we maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Cost Control: Work closely with our Restaurant Manager to estimate and manage restaurant expenses, including food, labor, and miscellaneous costs.
- Staff Development: Provide training and guidance to junior staff members, helping them to develop their skills and advance their careers.
- Quality Control: Oversee food preparation to ensure consistently high standards of quality and presentation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and update policies regularly as needed.
Requirements
- Certification: Must have a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Experience: Must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or have proper working rights in Australia.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary range of $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year.
