About Clinical Educator Role

The Royal Women's Hospital is one of Australia's oldest and most distinguished tertiary hospitals dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and newborns.

Our hospital offers specialised services within maternity, neonatal and women's health, providing high-quality care to our patients. The Gandel Simulation Service (GSS) in partnership with The University of Melbourne is a Translational and Educational Simulation service.

GSS works within a High Performance Teams framework to provide interprofessional education and clinical skills training, using simulation modalities combined with human factors, quality improvement, and implementation science to optimise teamwork, communication and patient safety.

About The Clinical Educator Position

This role is a core leadership position within the Gandel Simulation Service which supports the Women's interprofessional simulation program and reports on key prescribed deliverables.

The Clinical Educator will be instrumental in the delivery of simulation for the maternity service, working closely with midwifery and medical staff to develop and implement effective simulation programs.

A Regular Day Will See You Performing These Key Responsibilities
  • Organising maternity emergencies training sessions
  • Liaising with midwifery and medical staff
  • Facilitating debriefing sessions after simulation activities

You will also participate in translational simulation activities, working to improve patient safety through simulation-based learning.
