About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at Torrens University Australia. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our cloud ecosystem, with a focus on Microsoft O365 and Azure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Services Management: Oversee the administration and continuous evolution of O365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
  • Azure Infrastructure Management: Manage Azure resources, such as Virtual Machines, EntraID, Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure App Services.
  • Automation and Optimization: Develop automation tools to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Multi-Cloud and Infrastructure Support: Provide expertise in areas related to cloud infrastructure and interdependent services and applications.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with IT teams, faculty, and staff to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Design and Implement Cloud Solutions: Deploy scalable and secure cloud solutions using O365 and Azure services.
  • Drive Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies within the Microsoft O365 and Azure ecosystem.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Industry-Related Cloud Certifications: Highly advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in infrastructure engineering.
  • Cloud Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Azure, with additional experience in GCP or AWS being beneficial.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities: Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities, delivering innovative solutions.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
