Job Opportunity: High Acuity Nursing

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our surgical services team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Fitzroy campus. The successful candidate will work in our 29-bed surgical ward and 3-bed HDU, providing high-quality nursing care to patients with higher acuity needs.

The key specialties on the ward include Orthopaedics and Urology. As a registered nurse in this role, you will be responsible for delivering safe, compassionate and effective care to patients, as well as providing clinical leadership and support within the HDU.

  • Delivering patient-centred care that meets the needs of individuals and their families

  • Providing clinical leadership and support to other staff members

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Supporting education, mentoring and clinical supervision for junior staff

About You:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse

  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care or High Dependency Nursing (or working toward completion)

  • Proven clinical experience in a high-acuity or HDU/ICU setting- at least 2 years

  • Strong communication, assessment and clinical decision-making skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Commitment to person-centred care and professional excellence
