About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused technology lawyer to advise on a wide range of corporate and commercial arrangements, regulatory issues, and litigation. The successful candidate will be working closely with the General Counsel and other senior executives, providing expert legal guidance on rapidly evolving technology solutions and digital service offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing legal advice on IT and IT-related agreements, including master technology services agreements, technology procurement, implementation, licensing, SaaS, managed services, and outsourcing agreements.
  • Reviewing and drafting IT agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Advising on structuring responses to tenders for technology services, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Working collaboratively with client engagement teams, Risk Management, Privacy, and IT Security teams.
Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced technology lawyer with 4-6 years' PQE experience in a leading law firm or in-house equivalent. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A current Australian practicing certificate.
  • Proven expertise in advising on technology contracts and related matters.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to overlay legal analysis.
  • Project management, research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a team-oriented attitude.
