Role Overview
As an Early Childhood Co-Educator at our school, you will work collaboratively with the team leader and educational leader to contribute to the ELC's curriculum.
You will nurture positive relationships with children, staff, and families, promoting health, safety, and wellbeing of children and developing positive and respectful relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to children's records of observations on children's learning.
- Plan, prepare, and implement appropriate learning programs and environments for children.
- Guide professional practice based on Australian EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework).
- Work within a legal and ethical framework, based on NQS and national regulations.
- Establish and maintain collaborative and respectful relationships with colleagues and the wider community.
- Attend staff meetings, taking an active part in critical reflections about professional practice, pedagogical strategies, ELC philosophy, and curriculum.
Requirements
- A committed Christian with a deep desire to serve Jesus Christ as Lord.
- Demonstrated passion for biblically-based Christian education.
- Commitment to the Christian ethos of our school and the Statement of Faith.
- A personal commitment to our Vision, Mission, and Values underpinning the delivery of a Christian-based education to children.
- Certificate III in Children's Services approved by ACECQA (or working towards an Early Childhood Education qualification).
- Understanding and knowledge of the standards set by the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Ability to cope effectively under pressure in an emergency or stressful situation.
- Thorough understanding and implementation of a play-based curriculum.
- Competent computer skills to manage documentation, learning resources, and use of technology tools to support learning.
- Behaviour management skills reflecting restorative practices and the ability to develop and demonstrate positive behaviour strategies and support children's learning.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly.
- Valid Working With Children Check, RRHAN-EC, and Senior First Aid certification (incl. CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma).
