Job Title: Claims Consultant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Local Government Workcare Team in Brisbane office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining and managing statutory workers' compensation claims in a timely and effective manner in accordance with the provisions of the QLD Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Qld Act 2003.

You will also contribute to the effective operation of Claims Management Services to achieve the goals and objectives of the LGW Scheme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality claims management services to scheme members
  • Responding to all clients' needs in a timely manner to meet customer service standards
  • Maintaining the claims management system, including claim estimates
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and ethical standards, liaising with stakeholders as necessary

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2-3 years' operational experience preferably in workers compensation related field
  • Knowledge of the Qld Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Qld Act 2003
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve problems and establish work priorities, either while working independently or as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of personnel from public and private sectors
  • Effective computer literacy, including basic skills in MS Excel, Outlook & Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
