Industrial Trade Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated mechanical trade assistant to join our team in producing high-quality industrial equipment.

As an integral member of our workshop, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople in a hands-on position that offers excellent opportunities to develop your mechanical skills.

  • Contribute to the production of industrial equipment used across multiple sectors including mining, marine, construction, and manufacturing.
  • Assist qualified tradespeople with assembly, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes, winches, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Organize tools, materials, and components for production tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
  • Perform quality checks and basic measurements using precision instruments to guarantee the highest standards of quality.
  • Assist with equipment testing and commissioning procedures to ensure seamless integration into production workflows.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory control within the workshop environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to our zero-harm workplace culture, prioritizing employee well-being and safety above all else.

Essential Requirements:

  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulics, and pneumatics is essential for success in this role.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment is required, along with the ability to operate these tools safely and efficiently.
  • Quality Focus: A strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence are crucial in maintaining our high standards of quality.
  • Physical Capability: Good fitness level with the ability to lift up to 25kg, as well as being able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Licenses: Current forklift license and driver's license are mandatory for this role.
  • Communication: Strong team collaboration and communication skills are vital for success in this position.
  • Work Authorization: Must have unlimited working rights in Australia (student visa holders cannot be considered).

Highly Regarded Qualifications:

  • Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of gear systems and power transmission is highly regarded, but not essential for this role.
  • Experience: Previous manufacturing or workshop experience is desirable, but not necessary.
  • Industry Exposure: Familiarity with industrial equipment or mechanical systems is beneficial, but can be learned on the job.
