About the Role

As a Production Supervisor at BHP, you will be responsible for leading a team of production operators and executing the mine plan to achieve safe and optimal outcomes. You will be actively involved in field leadership activities and will be expected to engage your team to reach their full potential.

This role is well suited to someone who has strong leadership skills and is looking to be part of a team that is driving process improvements and contributing to meeting and exceeding targets in a dynamic and diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute production activities to plan through the management of people and equipment;
  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of production operators to deliver the plan and build a high-performance team;
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficiency and production is maximized.

About You

You will be a strong leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across the team. You will also ideally have:

  • A proven background in the mining industry, preferably in an open-cut environment;
  • A background in leading a team in a frontline supervisory capacity;
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills to achieve the best outcome for teams and production in the short and long term;
  • Collaborative relationship building and negotiation skills to engage others and work on accountability;
  • Sound computer literacy with exposure to interpreting shift metrics to drive optimal production behaviors;
  • Ability to inspire and develop operators, including those new to the industry;
  • Your ability to communicate, engage and build trust with your team will help you deliver on your commitments and position you well for future career opportunities.
