Job Overview:
Civil designers at Bechtel Corporation play a crucial role in the planning, development, and coordination of project civil/structural design work. In this position, you will collaborate with other professionals to ensure that designs and work plans meet project scope, schedule, budget, regulations, and standards.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings for civil engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and more.
• Develop designs for complex civil engineering projects with minimal supervision, resulting in detailed scale models and/or construction drawings.
• Assist in constructing detailed scale models and prepare or assist with material requisitions and bid evaluations.
• Monitor and check work for compliance with approved civil design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
• Participate in constructability reviews and take on additional responsibilities as designated.

Requirements:
• 7-10 years of relevant work experience and specialized courses in drafting, design, and engineering practices.
• Experience in design and drafting, demonstrated skill, sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
• Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
• Experience with relevant software, e.g., OpenRoads Designer, and working rights in Australia without employer sponsorship.

Estimated Salary:$85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
