Job Opportunity:
The Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre at UNSW Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its X-ray Facility. As Director, you will be responsible for aligning X-ray science strategies with UNSW's research goals, engaging in independent and collaborative research on X-ray methods, and managing the facility's operations to support stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of research scientists, technical and professional staff to deliver operational excellence and innovation.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, MWAC to align X-ray science strategies with UNSW's research goals.
- Engage in independent and collaborative research on X-ray methods.
- Manage the X-ray facility's operations to support stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the facility's capabilities and services.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior researcher to lead a world-class research X-ray facility. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research excellence, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of X-ray techniques and their applications.
Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field.
- Recognised authority in Material/Chemical/Physical Sciences.
- Research track record that aligns with the Centre's mission.
- Leadership experience in collaborative research with impactful outcomes.
- Ability to manage commercial services and knowledge of research ethics and compliance.
