Transport Safety Specialist

We are seeking a Transport Safety Specialist to join our team. Our company has a long history of serving communities and we have grown into a top-listed entity with 120,000 employees.

About the Team:

  • In partnership with Ocado, we are delivering a state-of-the-art customer fulfilment centre offering customers a wider range in a super-smart way.

About the Role:

  1. We require someone with sound knowledge and experience in health and safety, particularly critical risk reduction in yard management and on-road traffic management and transport safety.
  2. A minimum of 3 years' working experience in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing or automated environment is required.
  3. The successful candidate will have proven results in leading change within a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  4. The ability to incorporate safety requirements while considering commercially viable and practical solutions is essential.
  5. A proven capability in developing safety plans & strategies that align to business objectives is necessary.

About You and Your Skills:

  • An experienced Transport Safety professional ideally with experience in a developing environment who can set up processes.
  • A Safety Degree/related discipline and/or Risk Compliance degree or related discipline is required.
  • Experience managing transport regulatory compliance is necessary.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities are essential.
  • Exceptional coaching, analytical and interpersonal skills are required.
  • The ability to hold self and others accountable to raise the transport safety standards is essential.
  • The ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of team members and senior stakeholders is necessary.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills with strong attention to detail are required.
  • A proven ability with safety reporting and evaluating compliance to transform insights into frontline safety initiatives to address risk is necessary.
  • Experience conducting driver debriefs for cycles of continuous improvement is desirable.
