Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fresh Meat Specialist to join our team at Costco North Lakes in Brisbane. As a key member of our meat department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality products for our members.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized the previous night, rework display cases, and rotate products to maintain an organized and appealing store environment.
  • Take large trays of packaged meat from wheeled racks and place individual packages into the automatic wrapping machine, adhering to safety and security procedures.
  • Set the labeller according to product type and price, print, and apply labels to products, ensuring accurate and timely labeling.
  • Place wrapped and labelled meat on large trays and stock it in display cases by reaching through sliding windows or moving racks to the floor.
  • Operate the meat grinder, dump meat into the top of the machine, and check the fat content of each batch, following proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished products.
  • Clean and sanitize areas throughout the day, performing duties to comply with health code requirements, such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide prompt and courteous member service, meeting the high expectations of our members.
  • Be available to work early mornings, late shifts, and overnights, with weekend and PM loading rates applicable.
  • Capability to lift up to 25kg is required, and a physical manual handling assessment will be conducted.
  • Candidates must be over 18 years old.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with front-end duties as necessary.
  • Support other departments within the warehouse as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Licenses/Certifications: Food Handling, food safety certification preferred.
What We Offer

As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $65,000 - $75,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
