Location: South East Melbourne
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: 7am-4pm (may change to afternoon shift)
Pay Rate: $40.41 per hour
Job Brief/OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Waste Management Plant Operator to join our team at the South East Melbourne Transfer Station. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating earthmoving equipment, maintaining a professional image, and delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Operate earthmoving equipment, including front-end loaders, material handlers, excavators, and bobcats.
- Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service.
- Inform and assist drivers and members of the public on proper placement for dumping loads.
- Excavate, load, and compact dry waste in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with training, instructions, and company regulations.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
A minimum of a front-end loader license is required. Material handler experience is highly advantageous.
Desirable QualitiesWe are looking for a candidate with a good work ethic, commitment to safety, self-motivation, and mechanical aptitude. Willingness to assist co-workers as required is also essential.
Pre-Employment RequirementsBoth doses of COVID vaccine are required. Cleanaway WH&S must be completed prior to commencement, and a certificate must be presented to the site manager on arrival. PPE is also required, including a long-sleeve top, long drill pants, high-vis top, and steel-capped boots.
