Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Novotel Devonport, a waterfront hotel in Devonport. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production and preparation, with a passion for delivering high-quality dishes to our guests.

About the Role:

  • Ensure consistent great food production, in line with our high-quality standards
  • Execute food preparation and plating efficiently, meeting presentation guidelines
  • Perform tasks in a timely manner, maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
  • Assist other departments as needed, fostering good working relationships
  • Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues, ensuring compliance with hotel security, fire regulations, health and safety, and food safety legislation
  • Aware of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team
  • Meet all health and hygiene requirements, demonstrating environmental awareness
  • Be flexible and rotate to work across breakfast, lunch, and dinner to achieve expected service standards

Requirements:

  • Experienced kitchen staff, preferably with knowledge of South East Asian Cuisine
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Motivation, energy, and drive
  • A passion to learn and grow within the business
  • A culinary artist with a passion for traditional and modern Asian cuisine
  • Detail-focussed with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure
  • Energetic and proactive with an enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise
  • A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike
  • Trade qualification and experience in a similar role

About You:

  • You will be rewarded with competitive pay, including an estimated salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience
