Strategic Leadership in Cancer Services

The Director, Statewide and Specialist Programs provides strategic leadership in the development and implementation of policies and programs supporting cancer services, end-of-life care and palliative care services.

This position is responsible for leading key initiatives to progress the cancer and specialist program reform agendas, monitoring and coordinating responses to new and emerging issues relating to statewide and specialist services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice, direction, management and support to enable the effective implementation of cancer and other priority or specialist policy areas.
  • Develop and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the health sector and government.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to develop and implement policies and programs.

About You:

  • You will be a highly experienced leader with a strong track record in developing and implementing health policy and programs.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • You will be able to maintain good awareness of the current political and government context and provide timely, objective and impartial advice.
