**Financial Manager Role Overview**

This role is responsible for overseeing financial planning, cost management, and inventory control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have expertise in standard costing, advanced Excel functions, and ERP system functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement sound business processes to ensure accurate cost accounting records and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage costs associated with production, including materials, labor, and overhead, as well as inventory and operating expenses.
  • Partner with Operations to drive efficiency and optimize production through data-driven insights.
  • Ensure inventory is properly valued on the balance sheet, including the establishment of required reserves.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes.
  • Monitor labor utilization and efficiency, identifying root causes of variability and implementing corrective actions.
  • Review departmental spend for reasonableness, noting variances to budget.
  • Present site financial performance to leadership, articulating key drivers, variances, and trends.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, such as an ERP system, focusing on cost accounting, master data management, and related reporting.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory, overseeing counts, reviewing variances, and conducting audits as necessary.
  • Manage the inventory cycle count program, identifying opportunities for improved accuracy and partnering with operations to determine root cause of discrepancies.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors, providing analyses and audit schedules to ensure compliance with internal control procedures.

Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with emphasis on manufacturing finance/cost accounting.
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience using standard costing in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience with advanced Excel functions for financial analysis, variance analysis, and cost simulations.
  • Comfortable presenting complex financial metrics and KPIs to non-Finance personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP system functionality, preferably NetSuite or Oracle.
  • Solid understanding of WMS and MRP systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across functions and levels, as well as work independently with minimal direction.
  • Able to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
